My high school, the biggest in the state, had this brief article on the Indy Star site today.
It read:

Power problems shut Carmel H.S.

Carmel High School is closed today due to an electrical problem, according to a note on the school's Web site.

All classes, meetings and evening events are canceled.

From the school system website:

January 19, 2006
Carmel High School will dismiss at 8:30 A.M. due to a power outage. All athletic events and meetings for today are cancelled.

Something BIG must've happened to shut down power in the middle of the city. Perhaps they were putting in another $200,000 Carmel Arts and Design District sign and cut something. Who knows. I think it's funny. 4,000 high school students are probably pretty excited too.
